FREAK SCIENCE ON THE MICROCOLONIZATION OF
HORMONAL MOLECULES
This interdisciplinary and collaborative project is dedicated to the creation of accessible protocols for hacking the hormonal molecules present in our bodies and environments, creating a non-institutional portal for access to hormonal knowledge, as well as a cultural discourse for body and gender politics in the midst of rising ecological alienations. In response to the various ways hormonal molecules perform a molecular colonization on our bodies and ecosystems, how do we perceive what has always been invisible to us? Can we use civic action to create DIY/DIWO protocols and recipes for hacking hormones that are founded in equity and accessibility? From detection to extraction to bioremediation, these recipes function as a form of cultural disobedience against the very capitalist hegemonic systems controlling, managing and polluting the human, non-human, and planetary. DIY/DIWO biohacking functions as a tool for creating new strategies and new somatic fictions, combating the traditional power structures responsible for the production of knowledge, bodies, and subjectivities. From these xeno-forces arise xeno-solidarities, capable of collectively hacking the systems of molecular biopower.
